Protein Packed Bowl of Delicious

So my New Year Detox started this week.  I always find it's a little harder for me because my birthday comes right after the New Year, so the holiday celebrations roll right into my birthday meaning I don't really get back to super clean eating until after the 17th! 

One of the things that I find hard when you first get back to healthy eating is we may have formed some bad habits that you can't expect to break cold turkey.  Enter my protein packed bowl of delicious!  After two workouts on Wednesday, my body was clearly ripping through calories and I was feeling hungry in the evening.  I usually try not to eat after 9 but if I do, I"m going to make sure it's a decision on the smarter side of the spectrum. 

This is one of my go to snacks pre workout or post workout.  It's packed with healthy fats and lots of protein so you can't go wrong.  You can use it to fuel your workout or to refuel after your workout. 

Don't be mistaken, this isn't a low calorie or low fat snack so you need to take into account how you've been eating all day but I knew I was running in a deficit as compared to how much I'd worked out vs. how much I had taken in so I had the wiggle room to play. 

I posted a pic on my Insta story this week and it became apparent very quickly that you are all looking for something yummy in your lives!  So here it is for you!

  • 1/2 cup Stonyfield Organic Whole Milk Greek Yogurt
  • 1 TBSP unsweetened almond butter
  • 1 TBSP Hemp Hearts
  • 1/2 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein (9g protein)
  • 1 TBSP Enjoy Life Dairy Free mini chocolate chips
  • Stevia to taste

Calories - 377

Protein - 27g

Fat - 22.5g

You can of course lower the fat by using a low fat yogurt but I prefer to use full fat since it’s less processed. And I love the crunch the hemp seeds give too!
